Where should track lights be positioned? Track lighting works beautifully above the mantel in your living room or along a hallway . Direct the fixtures to shine on your artwork for gorgeous accent lighting. Track lighting should be placed approximately 20” to 40” away from your walls to provide accent lighting in a space.
Does track lighting need a junction box? Hardwired track lights require electrical connections be made at a junction box (an electrical box in the ceiling or wall) during installation . If no junction box is available along the proposed path of the lighting track, you will need to install one or have it installed by a qualified electrician.
